Exploring fruit growing possibilities in Edmonton
Testimonials
Ron’s workshop unlocked the door to permaculture in our community. Just weeks later, participants are gathering together to plant new low-maintenance gardens, and a variety of native and edible plants are displacing grass and weeds in the neighbourhood.
Donald Darnell, Aspen Gardens Community League, Edmonton, Alberta
Ron’s knowledge and experience have been a wonderful contribution to the City of Edmonton’s Master Naturalist Program (a learn-and-serve stewardship program for adults) over the last two years – his session was a favourite amongst the participants. Ron is a warm and engaging speaker and a gifted community developer, and we were delighted with the permaculture wisdom he brought to our program.
Angela Hobson, City of Edmonton
I was lucky enough to find Ron Berezan, and have him come down to Calgary three times to deliver full day sessions to the Calgary Zoo’s Master Gardener Training Program. From a lead instructor’s standpoint, they were fabulous days, as I had full confidence in Ron’s planning and teaching abilities. He was in full control of the class for the day, which was a joy for me. His topic delivery (edible gardening, xeriscaping etc.) was always inspiring and informative for the students, and I wouldn’t hesitate to say that he sparked new areas of interest for many of the students, due to his excellent content knowledge, and passion for his subject area. I would highly recommend Ron for any teaching or speaking engagements.
Jane Reksten, Supervisor, Continuing Education, Calgary Zoo and Botanical Garden
In March 2010, we brought in Ron Berezan for a series of workshops in Sarnia-Lambton County. I was very pleased with the response from the participants. People were stirred by the possibilities that permaculture provides to help restore ecological balance in both their personal and communal lives. I hope we get another opportunity to organize another trip for him to Ontario.
